The Institute for Marine Research (IMR) is the largest marine research institution in Norway, and plays a leading role at an international level in many of its areas of research. IMR has contributed significantly to the development of scallop culture in Norway, particularly at Austevoll Research Station, one of the largest and most advanced facilities of its type.

The Institute for Marine Research will have major roles in WP4 and WP5 (scallop conditioning and settlement), as well as acting as leader of WP5.
