IFREMER is the French Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea, and is the only French institution dedicated to maritime interests. The Laboratory of Physiology of Marine Invertebrates at IFREMER is internationally recognised for its work on the reproduction, growth, nutrition, larval development and metamorphosis of marine bivalves. The institute has a new experimental hatchery at Argenton, dedicated to laboratory experiments on the ecophysiology of all life cycle stages of molluscs.

IFREMER is the leader of WP3, and will also participate in WP2.
